We also utilize our events to create a dialogue in communities across the country encouraging people to support people with disabilities in their local community as well as find out more about people with disabilities. If there is one thing we try to educate on the most, it is always treating people with disabilities as “people first”. Look at the person and not the disability.
One of the most exciting forms of education we use to teach children is through the use of an ancient form of Japanese puppetry, called Bunraku (Boon-rah-koo), otherwise known as the Kids on the Block program. Fraternity members use this puppetry to teach children about the abilities of people with disabilities in a very entertaining and informative manner.
