PHONATHON 2009 A SUCCESS
This year’s Phonathon has come and gone, and thanks to the help of our volunteers both local and nationwide, sponsors and staff, it was a huge success! Over six nights at the Push America headquarters, over 50 volunteers called past Push America supporters in order to reconnect with them in addition to extending an invitation to join Push America in continuing to impact the lives of people with disabilities. Our supporters responded with a resounding “Yes!” and continued to show their belief in Push America’s mission.

In addition to the 50-plus local volunteers, we were also lucky enough this year to have over 30 nationwide volunteers setting aside time out of their schedules to make calls to people they’ve come to know through Push America and Pi Kappa Phi. A goal of $33,000 was set, increasing last year’s total pledge amount by 10%. While it was an audacious goal, it was also a goal that, with the continued support of the extended Push America family, was wholly attainable.

Now, a week after the Phonathon has ended, we are proud to announce that we were able to raise over $41,000 in pledges, having already received $31,000 of that! It is a testament to the impact Push America continues to have after more than 30 years of existence! Nationwide callers are still turning in pledge forms, too! We’d like to give a big thanks to all of our volunteers and sponsors; without you none of this would have been possible.

If you still need to fulfill your Phonathon pledge or wish to donate, you can visit www.pushamerica.org/phonathon or call the Push America office at (704) 504-2400.
